Transforming the Lives of People with Physical Disabilities

Together we can… and together we will.

Our mission is to positively impact the lives of people with physical disabilities, especially the most vulnerable and underserved members of our community, through charitable giving. We provide financial assistance, support education and research, and invest in innovative technologies that help empower others to recover from a life-changing illness or injury.

Enabling Independence Program

Mobility devices, standing frames, and shower chairs. These are lifelines, not luxuries, for people with complex medical rehabilitation needs – especially when insurance or personal savings may not cover the cost. Here is where Cal Rehab Foundation’s Enabling Independence Program steps in to provide financial assistance for essential medical equipment, home and vehicle modifications, and other important needs.

Research Mentoring Programs

The future of care, treatment, and technology lies in research conducted today. Through Cal Rehab Foundation’s Research Mentoring Program, clinical staff have the opportunity to work with two of the nation’s leading medical rehabilitation researchers: Drs. Pamela Roberts and Jeffrey Wertheimer, both of who are affiliated with Cedars-Sinai and California Rehabilitation Institute.

Career Connections Program

As the need for qualified healthcare providers continues to grow, Cal Rehab Foundation’s Career Connections Program is opening the door for individuals interested in pursuing the nursing profession. In 2025, the Foundation, working closely with accredited academic programs in the Los Angeles area, provided 11 scholarship grants to support student training and education, a curriculum that includes an introduction to the medical rehabilitation field.

Partner with Us

During the process of recovery, one of the most important things we can do is show others they are not alone. Each day, we are inspired by the stories of individuals who demonstrate strength and resilience during life’s most difficult challenges. By partnering with the Cal Rehab Foundation, you can bring the gifts of hope, healing and independence to people with physical disabilities.
